Following are the many programs sponsored by Kirkland Jr High's PTSA, and supported by families. We can always use more volunteers! Consider joining one of the committees listed below!

Communications:

___Student Directory – help with student directory entry/proof reading (Fall)

___Newsletter (Panthergram) – prepare newsletter for mailing (All Year)

___Volunteer Coordinator – help contact/organize volunteers who sign this form (All Year)

___Publicity – write occasional, brief articles for community newspapers and PTSA Newsletter (All Year)

___Spanish PTSA Liaison - help translate information for our Spanish speaking students (All Year)

Programs:

___Walk About Program – Organize parents to have a presence before school and at lunch (All Year)

___Reflections – help committee with annual National PTSA arts recognition program (Fall/Winter)

___Drama Performance – Help with costumes, props, chaperoning, refreshments, etc (Feb)

___Mothers Day Luncheon - help with vendor gifts, entertainment & set-up day of event (April/May)

___Fathers Day Breakfast – help with vendor gifts, entertainment & set-up day of event (May/June)

___Students In Need – need parents of special needs student to assist PTSA in identifying & meeting needs (All Year)

Ways & Means:

___Financial Review – Three volunteers to conduct audit of PTSA financial books (January & July)

___Hospitality – gather & set up refreshments for events/meetings (5 General Meetings)

___Emergency Preparedness – help order/organize supplies (All Year)

___Health Screening – help with vision/hearing/scoliosis screening (Oct)

___Parent Education – locate educational presenters/assemblies

___Staff Appreciation – help with refreshments for KJH staff throughout the year (3-4 times)

___EScrip – help parents sign up for this easy year-long fund raiser (Fall)

Ad Hoc Committees:

___Nominating Committee – recruit the most qualified people for the positions available (Dec – Apr)

___Awards Committee – help gather nominees for PTSA Volunteer & Staff Awards (Apr – June)

___Membership – help membership chair promote PTSA membership (Fall)

___Legislation – distribute information/promote involvement in child advocacy issues (All Year)

___Grant Writer – fill out occasional grant applications for the PTSA & school (Fall)

___LWSD Solo & Ensemble Festival, door monitors, welcome desk organizer and greeters, lunch organizer and preparers, Concession stand organizer and cashiers– (May 9)
